Best Teen Patti Variants: AK47, Muflis, Joker and More

1. Classic Teen Patti

Rules

Classic Teen Patti follows the traditional rules. Each player is dealt three cards face down. Players bet based on the strength of their hand, with the option to play blind (without seeing cards) or seen (after checking cards). The player with the highest-ranking hand at showdown wins the pot.

Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)

1. Trail (Trio): Three of a kind (e.g., 7-7-7)
2. Pure Sequence: Three consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 5♥-6♥-7♥)
3. Sequence (Straight): Three consecutive cards of mixed suits
4. Color (Flush): Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence
5. Pair: Two cards of the same rank
6. High Card: No combination, highest card wins

Strategy

• Fold 70% of hands pre-flop — most hands are weak
• Play aggressively when you have a Pure Sequence or better
• Bluff strategically, especially when playing blind for the first few rounds

2. AK47

Rules

AK47 is one of the most exciting Teen Patti variants. In this mode, all Aces and Kings are wild cards. They can substitute for any card to complete a winning combination. This dramatically increases the number of strong hands and leads to action-packed rounds.

How Wild Cards Work

If you hold an Ace, it can represent any card you need. For example, if you have A♠-8♠-9♠, the Ace can serve as any spade to complete a sequence or flush. If you have two Aces, you effectively have a guaranteed Trail (three of a kind) because you can make any card wild.

Strategy

• Play more hands — wild cards make strong hands more common
• An Ace in your hand is worth keeping — it significantly improves your odds
• Bet aggressively with two wild cards — you almost certainly have a strong hand
• Do not bluff too much — opponents are also getting strong hands

3. Muflis (Lowball)

Rules

Muflis turns the traditional Teen Patti rankings completely upside down. The worst hand wins — so High Card is the strongest and Trail is the weakest. This variant rewards patience and strategic folding.

Reversed Rankings (Lowest to Highest — Worst Wins)

1. High Card: No combination — this is now the BEST hand
2. Pair: Better than Trail, worse than High Card
3. Color: Third best
4. Sequence: Fourth best
5. Pure Sequence: Fifth best
6. Trail (Trio): Worst hand — you want to avoid this

Strategy

• Fold any hand with an Ace or King — high cards hurt you in Muflis
• Keep hands with 2-3-5, 2-4-7, or similar low, unpaired cards
• Bluff as if you have a terrible hand (which is actually good in Muflis!)
• Watch for players who bet big — they likely have a terrible hand

4. Joker Mode

Rules

In Joker mode, a random card is selected as the wild card at the start of each round. For example, if 7♥ is the joker card, all 7s in the deck become wild cards. The joker changes every round, keeping the gameplay dynamic and unpredictable.

Strategy

• Identify the joker card early — adapt your hand evaluation
• A joker in your hand makes it significantly stronger
• If you have two normal cards close to a sequence and one is a joker, play aggressively
• Higher-denomination jokers (10, J, Q, K, A) are harder to pair naturally — rely more on the wild card property

5. Hukam

Rules

Hukam is an advanced variant where one suit is declared as the trump suit for the entire round. Cards of the trump suit outrank all cards of other suits. This adds a layer of complexity that rewards strategic thinking.

Strategy

• If you have multiple trump suit cards, play aggressively
• The Ace of the trump suit is the most powerful single card
• Pass if you have no trump cards — your chances of winning are very low
• Bluffing is effective in Hukam — opponents may fear you hold trump cards

6. 2 Cards

Rules

In this fast-paced variant, each player receives only two cards instead of three. The hand rankings are simpler: Pair beats High Card. Quick rounds make this ideal for players who enjoy rapid gameplay.

Strategy

• Fold immediately if you have no pair
• Play aggressively with any pair — pairs are rarer in 2-card games
• Bluff sparingly because hand strength is easier to estimate

7. Best of Four

Rules

Players receive four cards and must choose the best three-card combination to play. This variant increases the likelihood of strong hands and rewards card-reading skills.

Strategy

• Look for the best three-card hand among your four cards
• Discard the card that least contributes to your hand
• Even a weak-looking set of four cards can often make a sequence
• Do not fold too quickly — four cards give you more drawing potential

8. Lowest Joker

Rules

In this variant, the lowest card on the table becomes the wild card for all players. If the lowest community card is 3♣, then all 3s in the deck are wild. This creates interesting dynamics where low cards become extremely valuable. The wild card changes every round based on the cards dealt.

Strategy

• Pay attention to the community card that determines the wild
• Hold onto cards matching the lowest card rank — they become wild
• Hands with naturally low cards become more flexible and powerful
• If you have two cards matching the lowest rank, you effectively have a guaranteed pair at minimum

9. Championship Mode

Rules

Championship Mode is a tournament-style variant where players compete in multiple rounds with accumulating scores. The player with the highest total score at the end of all rounds wins the championship prize pool. This mode requires both short-term hand-reading skills and long-term bankroll management.

Strategy

• Play conservatively in early rounds — survival matters more than big wins
• Increase aggression in later rounds when point differentials become clear
• Keep track of your position in the leaderboard to adjust your strategy
• Bluff more against players who are desperate to catch up
